Looking Up

Some things never change.  Raodi is still limping around waiting for her surgery, son is still at school, and hubby is still off work on disability.  Some things, however, are definitely looking up!  I've finished my exams, and closed out the semester with a 3.6 GPA.  That gives me a 3.6375 for the year, which I'm pretty happy with.  I'm starting riding lessons again on May 7 after a too-long enforced absence, and I'm trying to convince hubby that there's room in the budget for me to get another horse in the fall.  Never hurts to try!

The big news just happened today.  Back in March I applied for a summer research internship with the University of Alberta, and a few days ago I got an email asking me to please come in for an interview.  I was interviewed this morning by two of the scientists leading the project, and I got an email this afternoon asking if I would accept the position.  WILL I??  Of course I accepted right away!  So I'm going to spend the next four months working in livestock genetics, split between the U of A and their beef research facility in Kinsella.  I start May 1, and I can't wait.  Guess I need to pick up a new lab coat....
